Es importante evaluar a los niños cuando presentan denti- ción mixta y dientes permanentes recién erupcionados, ya que un diagnóstico temprano puede permitir tratamien- tos ortodónticos preventivos e interceptivos.
concLusiones
- Existen muchos factores que pueden determinar la rela- ción entre la maloclusión y la OHRQoL del paciente odon- topediátrico, tales como el nivel socieconómico, la severi- dad de la maloclusión, el sexo o la edad.
- En los preescolares la relación estudiada está controver- tida.
- En la adolescencia, la asociación no está clara.
- Es necesaria una mayor heterogeneidad y calidad de estudios para la obtención de resultados significativos.
- El profesional de la salud oral debería valorar la perspec- tiva subjetiva del paciente, más allá de los parámetros clí- nicos e índices objetivos.
